Gifted & Accelerated Learning

If your student has the desire to learn material on a higher level, but is being held back by age or school placement, Wychwood will design a program to allow your child to reach their full potential.  Learn how to document higher achievement, how to gain entrance to competitive gifted and talented programs, and how to position your child for inclusion in advanced learning opportunities. We can also explain to students the value of working for these opportunities.

Diagnostic Testing

Many students today have holes in their education. We test in order to analyze your child’s learning style and to find educational gaps that are left by the one-size-fits-all style of traditional schools.  Even good students have gaps and they appreciate having some help to bridge those gaps.

Placement Testing

Students that are making changes, moving to a new school, considering skipping a grade or asking for gifted/special education services can benefit from comparative placement testing.

Tests cannot tell you everything, but we can get more out of them than you might think. We can explain their quantitative results and interpret their impact on educational plans. Tests can be performed with or without accommodations, to see which would make a difference for your child.

We also work to find out how test anxiety is affecting your child’s score on high-stakes tests. Then we work to allay any test-related concerns.

Curriculum Development

We have written curriculum for private schools, gifted and talented projects, and homeschool families. Transcript and/or documentation services for homeschoolers are also available.
